Ipad/ios versions GM 40

Hello,
I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere but I can't seem to find it. I had a very old iPad that was working well with a Line 6 midi mobilizer 2 and the iPad completely bricked and I'm looking to get an old used one so that I can continue using the app and for some reason I have it in my head that the app will only run with older iPad's and older ios versions. Can anyone point me to where this info may be before I order another one off ebay? Also, is there an actual Windows desktop program that works? I remember trying that route when I first bought the amp and I don't think I really got anywhere. Thanks for any help.

Hi Marty. I am doing my best to get to the bottom of this but I can't find the iPad app anywhere. I can't find anything on the Apple Play Store. The links which I was going to give you on the H&K site now don't seem to lead anywhere. The iPad app seems to have dropped out of sight. Fredo's Windoze version is still available but that certainly doesn't help you.

I'll try contacting H&K direct and see what they say. Incidentally, you could do this too to add a bit of weight to the query. Don't email them or use their online site message, use Facebook if you can. The support guy tends to take a long time to respond to emails as he is often out of the office at trade shows and the like, but he is on their Facebook page wherever he is in the world every day.

We should be able to get to the root of why this has dropped out of sight. Unless someone can point us to a working location of course???

Hi, Thanks for responding as I've been looking on ebay at used ipads and probably would've ordered something in the next few days. I'm an android user so I just assumed the old app was still up at the app store. My wife has an iphone through work but I'm not sure she can even access the app store as her employer locks out a lot of things. I just don't understand H & K. This app is so useful and cool and they just don't support it. Being able to tweak settings remotely from the head without constantly reaching out to the knobs is so much less frustrating. I guess there's not enough demand for it. Thanks.

Speaking only personally, (disclaimer over!), I find Windoze support for software of this category pretty much "blah-ah-ah". I find Apple software support to be a vomit inducing - "bleu-u-u-u-rgh"! "You don't want to do that. We don't want you to do that. No, you definitely don't want to do that. You can't do that", seems to be their standard attitude. I don't get the absolute religious belief in Mac stuff which some people have. There are definite good points in the way Apple approaches some aspects over M$ but there are just as many ridiculous weaknesses and the most revolting profit fueled marketing controls which make using them a very poor experience.

I've posted a request for info on their Faecesbook page now asking them what is going on with the app so I'll let you know when I get an answer.

I can't help but agree with your opinion on the Apple attitude. Both of the main players have their issues though. I would go onto FB but I recently deleted my account for the second time in the last year so unless I have to bring it back. I prefer not to. I appreciate you putting the request in and will wait to hear back here before buying anything as the last iPad was used exclusively for this app that looks as though it may not be available anymore.

Hahaha!!! Great minds think alike. I have just made only my second post in over 18months to ask your question. My faith in anything "social media" went out of the window with our recent Earth shattering debacle and the way Facebook and it's clones led people into frantically giving up any freedom to think in order to be told. I haven't deleted my account, remember your historic content is still held on their servers, but I've sworn never to get involved in the way I was. Don't worry, I'll keep you up to date.

When searching on the U.S. app store on my pc for anything associated with H & K or Grandmeister, the app store shows no results but when I use the above German link and remove the "de" in the link, it takes me to the U.S. app? Strange. Also on the U.S. page it's called Grandmeister and on the German it's Grandmaster. Maybe I'm not really searching the app store through my pc although I did ask my wife to search the app store on her company iphone last week and she found nothing as well.

I've just used that link Marty and I find it takes me to the German page.  Changing "\de" to "\us" takes me to effectively the same page but in English as you would expect.  Removing "\de" completely also takes me to the US page.  That's good - however!  Can you find where to actually download it on that page because I can't?  It seems to be simply an information page about the app and not a source of it.  At the top of the page it simply says "Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps." and of course when we do that it can't be found at least by me.

Am I missing something that you have managed to access here?

It's the same as you got and takes us no further forward. I've asked them where the actual download function is and I'll keep you up to date with any response.

So I sent the German link to my son who has an ipad and he said he couldn't use the link but was able to look it up on the U.S. app store and find it and download it. He was in a rush and didn't have time for the specifics but at least I know it's still available so I have an excuse to look for an older gen ipad. Thanks for all your help.

When you do get the details can you make sure to post where he found it Marty?  I have looked all over the US App Store and couldn't find it anywhere.  There are other members who are missing the most recent app too so it would be really helpful for a lot of people.

So he tells me he just typed into the search in the app store "grandmeister" and this comes up. He's using an ipad pro 5th gen ios 15.0.2

I can only assume that it must make a difference what you are accessing the app store from. I certainly don't get that with a simple search on Grandmeister. That was the first thing I did and it found nothing in any area of the Apple Store. I'm browsing from a Windows machine of course. I wonder if Apple is detecting that and therefore assuming that I can't have any use for the iPad app so it doesn't show up in the results.

Yes, even on my wife's phone it comes up partially but it says it's an iPad app only.
