    Hello all!

New member and owner of the GM40.  This is the first H&K amp I've owned since my Duotone a decade or so ago.

I'd been searching for the "ultimate cover band" tube amp for awhile now, and decided to pull the trigger on the GM40 a week or so ago.

The day after I received the amp, I opted to pair it with my Egnater Tourmaster 2x12 and take it to rehearsal.  Even with very little time spent tweaking the amp, initial impressions were very good.  Enough so that I went ahead and ordered the WMI-1, which I hope to hook up and try out tonight.  Really looking forward to getting familiar with it, seems there's tons of potential in this little head.

    Cool

Hi and Welcome! I too am a new GM-40 owner and just love mine!
I'm running the 4 cable method with Helix in the Loop, that way I can add in compression, a wah, EQ where needed and a pedal of two with another FX loop on a different aux port. Harmonic's and sustain for days AND, I don't play metal. That said this is a blues rock rig from hell fella's... cheers Twisted Evil cheers

Thanks for the welcome Spikey! I did the 4cm with my TC Electronics G System for awhile, but always felt in over my head, and never comfortable enough to take it live. Never been a huge effects guy outside of the staples (wah and boost out front, delay in the loop, blah, blah), but really hoped the G system would change that. If it was more user friendly, it may have. Still have it, still wanna use it...but I digress...enter the GM40. I went from a guy that didn't wanna use effects to a guy that's perusing our song list looking for places to add them. Simply because it's a preset now, not a tap dance. I was so afraid this amp was going to be more of a cool looking conversation piece instead of a usable piece of equipment. So far, its proven me wrong. Anyways...I've got some sweet gear that (hopefully), is gonna collect some dust due to this little amp. Anxious to hear and see how other gigging musicians are using it.
