Was a killer gig this past Saturday, and the GM40 passed with flying colors.

Terrific looking venue there MPO, congrats on you guys nailing it. What was Geri Halliwell doing on stage with you in pic 6? Wink No soundclips of the GM in action available?

My wife got a couple short ones with her iPhone when she went Facebook live, but they sound muffled.  I think she had her hand over the mic. lol

Not sure if these will work or not?

Looks like access to those clips is restricted MPO. I just get a message telling me "...the page may only be available to an audience you aren't in." Have you posted it inside your own page which may keep it private for your friends only?

I tried to share them to our band page as well, but it wouldn't let me due to privacy settings on the videos. I've texted her seeing if she can remove them.

Vids should work now, but the audio is still bad.

Great stuff there, you look like you really enjoyed the evening. When I have visited your shores I became aware just how much you guys appreciate your live music. Seems like almost every bar has live music on at some time. And that stage is HUGE with so much space for you to set up in it's untrue! Over here we just about still have a healthy live music scene but the pubs and smaller clubs we mostly have are tiny in comparison to that. They are very enthusiastic venues but it can make things a bit static. Hats off for the band's sound, though it was muffled it seemed to be good and balanced and overall uncomplicated which I for one love.

Thank you very much for the kind words bordonbert, much appreciated!

You know, I have to give my city some credit, it has a very good music scene.  While it may not be quite like Nashville or Austin, the people of this town love their live music, and there are still a good many venues that overwhelmingly support it. Not to mention, there are some incredibly talented bands in this area, both cover and original.

Gerstle's Place (the venue above) has some sort of live music seven days a week. There is even a patio bar there that features acoustic acts while full bands play the main stage.  They have their own in house PA, subs, etc. The sound man there, Phil...while being an older cat, is really good.  I truly wish the audio was better. He keeps the mix on point, the bass thumping and it gives people a bigger music experience in a somewhat small venue.

The stage is decent in size, but it fits the room just right and lends itself for great crowd / band interaction.  Some of our other regular haunts have bigger stages (one pictured below), but the environment and crowd at Gerstle's never disappoints.

Not to change the subject, but our thoughts are with you and your countrymen after the tragedy in Manchester.

Many thanks for the kind thoughts MPO, they are really appreciated. It's an unfortunate shared experience by so many of us in many countries nowadays.

That's a lot of BIG amplifiers on the stage Smile ,what's the pa system,i haven't seen bass bins like those before,oh & what is the perspex screen in front of (what looks like)a flightcase, for?
When you used the GM40 on stage, did you find it overly "trebly"?
We.ve passed through Louisville several times, but only actually stayed over 1 night once,we went to a Shania Twain concert in a big arena complex, love Ky,Tn,we have friends in Lexington & Murfreesboro(near Nashville)

The PA system belongs to a friend of ours that runs sound for us when we play bigger gigs. It's all Yorkville stuff if I remember correctly. The subs are actually rolled in upright, but lay flat so you can mount the mains above them.

The perspex (plexiglass) screen is an amp shield sitting in front of my Mesa Boogie 2x12 cab, that I was running as an extension cab for the Blackstar HT Stage 60 at that particular gig.

I did find the GM40 a bit "trebly" when I initially fired it up prior to soundcheck, so I dialed in more bass to each channel. Maybe could have used a tad more, but it seemed to be sitting in the mix fine, so I didn't mess with it after that. Just played and enjoyed the...uhhh..."scenery". Cool

Hey thanks MPO. Very Happy When you get to my age you do tend to want to forget them as much as possible, but my wife generally won't let me have that luxury. Never mind, for that she gets to go to a weekend of jam sessions in London as I have to be in the party mood. If I have to be the birthday boy, it becomes my party! bounce
