connect to pc for recording Empty connect to pc for recording

I want to connect the GM40 to PC and record on some software.

I already have a midi to usb so I can use the GM40 PC app for changing channels which is really cool.

Please let me know which one I need to buy next to use the redbox out:
    1. XLR (M) to XLR (F) Balanced Cable + Audio Interface Unit: then AI to PC
    2. XLR to USB: Amp to PC
    3. Other

Sounds like you would need an audio interface not a MIDI one as you should need to run system 1 in your list.  It is possible that your current PC soundcard may have this already built in.  Have you any idea which soundcard you have in your PC?  If not then look on the back and see if there is a Line In or Audio In socket.

EDIT: Should have pointed out that is won't be a XLR socket, that is not necessary in your situation. It would most likely be a small 3.5mm jack socket or something similar. You would need to come up with a balanced (XLR) to unbalanced (jack) cable.
