GMD40 sounded like crap tonight. No power, sustain, etc. Long story short, only two center lights were on, on the back of the amp. Guessing the two outer tubes took a dump. Big gig next Saturday, got a call in to Sweetwater, but may just have to re-tube it myself due to timing. Still under warranty, never been dropped, never been opened. Amp is only a few months old. Looking for thoughts, suggestions or advice.

Yes - I am curious what you found to be the user error too.
Sometimes I have seen those lights on the back of my amp be on/off in various combinations.

Long story short...I had it set to 20w.
When I first fired it up, I got it nothing, no sound at all. Looked on the back panel, and it was set to silent. I obviously hit the button by mistake while setting everything up.
I hastily hit the 20w button thinking that it was 40w. Had a lapse in memory that no lights was 40w. Thinking it was set at 40w, and the two center red lights illuminated, I assumed that I had blown a pair of tubes. In actuality, when you have it set to 20w, the amp itself takes two tubes out of the mix to drop the power down.
