Global EQ changes? Empty Global EQ changes?

Post by gravydb Tue Oct 14, 2014 8:36 am

    I haven’t gigged my Grandmeister yet but I have a question…

Let’s say you’re sound checking prior to a show. With a conventional amp, you have the ability to make global EQ changes on the fly to suit the particular venue. How does one do that with the Grandmeister? It seems to me that you’d have to modify and save each preset (I have a couple dozen that I use throughout a typical show). Unless I’m overlooking something?

    2 thoughts.

1 - I think you can configure the amp to use presence and resonances as global adjustments for the amp rather than programmed per preset. Not quite the eq setting you are asking for but maybe it would work.

2 - get an eq pedal and place it in the effects loop.

Yes there is a way to configure those two knobs, which I have done. That will be a big help.

Also, I was just thinking, 99% of the time I will be sending a redbox signal to the board... so, the EQ'ing "per venue" at the amp is probably not as critical as I initially thought.

    Thanks!!!

Let us know how that goes. I plan on letting the sound guy take care of my eq as well going direct into the pa.
