    GM36 - disappointing tips Empty GM36 - disappointing tips

    Hi all,

I am a GM36 user, satisfied with performance, great sound!

However there is something that is getting me frustrated....

    1) if you want to use GM36 in all its potentiality, you are obliged to buy also the fsm432 midi controller.........and an iPad (+ irig interface)....put all together you have a "nice" extra cost of about 600 euros....if you are not a lucky iPad owner....
Maybe a graphic display integrated in the GM36 would be really usefull and appreciated.....to allow presets editing without necessarily having the iPad

    2) I've tried also the android app version of remote controller.... Success in downloading it.....but sirs...it's graphically orrible. Less functionalities than iPad version..... and no chance to use a midi interface on the android tablet....too complicated..... please!!
Is this serious from H&K...when they say the android app is ready and everything seems so easy....??

    3) one of the peculiarities of GM36 is that it offers integrated effects. Maybe it would be really nice that some presets controls, editing functionalities, programming and a graphic display...should be avaliable also on the fsm midi controller, rather than only via iPad

    4) sharing presets. Such proclaimed by H&K....but still unexisting....

At the end of the day..... great product..... great sound...... but (this is my personal opinion)....I find complicated to acceess to all GM36 dimensions.......and, once that you have all your stuff..... the presets are anyway "limited" if compared with a common guitar processor

So a great extra price to use presets that can be absolutely and easily available with a ....Boss GT-100 or similar....with half the price!

Hey there. I hear you about some of the shortcomings. I still wish volume pedal functionality matched the promise.

You don't really need the iPad/app to get everything out of the GM. Yes, the foot controller is pretty much a must buy (or a similar one). I really don't get the comparison of the GM amp and functions to something like a Boss GT-100. Sure, the GT-100 sounds pretty good, but can't compare to the core amp functions of the GM. You're also getting so much amp for the price that adding integrated screens would push the cost of the amp above the targeted price point.

All that said, I DO use an iPad and really like the added ease. If I could use my rather large phone as easily, I would be all over it.

I was a bit thrown at first with some of these points too. The ipad one for example. I dont have either an android or ipad but have had a look at the functionality on both and ipad easily beats the android.
But i did get the fsm pedal with my amp and think it is great. I have found i have to use my memory a little more in order to remember where i place my pre-sets and sometimes dial in the settings again for a visual. Started using the classic pen and paper to make notes of what i have got and where.
I am however very excited by the possibility of a windows based app which i can use on my windows surface or desktop. There is another thread with information on this.
