When I turn the GM36 on, and flip on the "Play" switch I am getting a fairly loud pop. I am thinking that this is happening because the last channel I played through was an Ultra channel.

This same channel is popping when I switch to a clean channel. Maybe something is exaggerated in the Ultra preset? I will be hooking up my iPad later on today to look at the Ultra preset. Crunch and Lead channels do not pop going into the Clean channel.

Any answers to this issue would be great to hear from by other GM36 users!

If H & K responds to my inquiry I will make a point at updating this thread.

I did not notice any pops during practice tonight in a live situation playing at 95dB. Maybe it is a bedroom volume thing. Will report any H&K responses.

After switching out my FSM pedal and replacing it with the One Control Crocodile pedal looper, the popping noise I was getting, going from a factory preset Ultra channel to a clean channel has gone...  Interesting.

Why the GM36 would care about creating a pop is strange.  Could the midi command be going to slow into the GM36 and it is waiting, listening for another command change?  I don't know...  I didn't engineer this thing.   Shocked

All I know is the pop is gone. What's next on my list? Nothing as far as I know.

I am also getting pops with FSM32 mkiii, when switching from Ultra channel to clean. Argh.

    Damn!

If you've got another midi pedal then try switching the amp with it. If your popping goes away then I will make sure to send H&K an email describing the problem and our solution that fixed the problem. Sorry Man! I was hoping it was my amp and the tubes.

CORRECTION: The amp still pops using the One Control as the midi switcher. I think it is the volume difference between my Ultra channel and the clean channel. The 3-6dB boost difference between the two presets is enough to make a slight pop.

When I used the amp last Thursday in band practice I did not hear the pop. We are practicing at about 95dB and if I can't hear it at that volume then I or no one else will hear it at 100dB when we play live.

For me this is a closed case. I'm happy! Sometimes; we as guitarists, always strive for perfection but at the end of the day even pro players out in the audience will probable not hear our slight pops. Blame it on the sound guy!
