    Can't Wait! Empty Can't Wait!

Ordered my GM36 a couple of weeks ago, and it got pushed back yet another week.  It was supposed to ship on Friday, now I wait until next Friday.  Oh well.

I'm switching from a Carvin V3M where I just couldn't find my tone.  Hoping the GM36 will be it for me.  What is it about the ambient blue light from these two heads attracts me to them?!  LOL

Still not sure about what cab to use yet.  The V30 speakers sound a little harsh to me, so the H&K cabinets are out.  I'm leaning toward an Avatar cabinet with the G12H30.

Glad to have found this forum.  Looking forward to learning more about this amp.

    Welcome to the forum ral6887!

I was just as excited as you are. The blue color is addictive I agree. Hopefully, you will like the tones the GM has to offer compared to the Carvin. I have never played one of their amps so I'm no help there.

Yes, the speakers can make or break an amp head. I am lucky to have been playing the same speakers for the last 12 years so I know how good broken in speakers should sound. I am just playing through 2-V30's and this amp sounds great in band practice. We won't be playing live for at least another two months. Our studio is really big so the amp/cab should sound the same. I will be re-wiring my 4x12 cabinet to include the two greenbacks.

If you can play through some existing speakers that you currently have then that will give you a good bench mark on what the GM sounds like.

The only cons this amp has is using an attached expression pedal as a volume pedal... Not so much. Doesn't work worth a darn.

Other than that, the only other thing is, I really don't want to mess with the factory sounds to much because it sounds really good as is and I am not the kind of person that can re-dial in good sounds. I'm just not that kind of player. I don't have the ear to dial in great guitar tone. Anything I hear, I can play but don't ask me to tweak because it is not in me. I always screw it up. I think that is why I like this amp so much. Turn it on and play! I really like preset 29, 8-A for solos. Perfect for screaming 80's solos at 110dB!

Keep us posted when your amp gets in and keep us involved so that we can help answer any questions you may have. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I have never owned an H&K amp before but I enjoy turning mine on every day now!
