He makes a point a couple of times about not touching the valves as you will damage them. This is not true within reason. If you're halfway through your fish and chip supper and your hands are covered in grease and tomato sauce then don't go near them. Although an amp smelling of fish and chips when it gets hot may be a very attractive proposition, leaving heavier gunk on there will not be good. A little wiggling with clean fingers to release them will do no damage at all, they're NOT the same as halogen bulbs.
It doesn't hurt to take the same precautions as he does of course but it's not disastrous to touch them.
