    Hi everyone,
I have a few questions regarding the Floor unit:

    1. **Tap Tempo in Stompbox Mode**: does the tap tempo even function work in stompbox mode? From the manual, i would say No and thats incredible flaw in my eyes.. So big, that seems unrealistic to me

    2. **Delay Trails**: Are delay trails available when switching presets?

    3. **Stereo Effects**: Are the effects in stereo? If using 2 cabs of 16 ohms?

    4. **Tap Tempo Modulation**: from the manual, i would say that tap tempo serves only for delay?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Petara.  I'm definitely no BS200 guru, I stopped at the GM36. However, I can read a manual and talk things through with you knowing how most of the H&K amps do their stuff.  If there is anyone who is a BS200 Floor user who knows more than I do please chip in with answers and corrections.  In the meantime I'll do the best I can.

I think I see where you are coming from with the Tap in Stompbox mode problem.  It has never occurred to me before.  If the Tap switch is used to turn Delay on and off, how do we set the Tap timing live.  Honestly, I just don't know for sure.
BS200 Floor User Manual wrote:You can switch Modulation FX, Delay and Boost on and off separately using the Mod, Delay and Boost buttons. You can also adjust the Reverb via an added footswitch or pedal connected to one of the Controller inputs on Black Spirit 200 Floor.

I think a pedal plugged into the other Expression Pedal socket could be used to do that.  In the FSM432 for example you can assign MIDI functions to the expression inputs.  The manual Page 11 points out that Controller Number 4 is the channel for Delay time, (51ms-1360ms in 128 steps).  With a pedal set to control that you should be able to pedal in delay on the fly.  This is for the FSM432 of course and for a different controller you would presumably need one which supports programmable external expression pedals.

Delay trails is something that is beyond my experience.  Do you mean that the trails should continue when you change presets, not be cut off when the preset changes? Just having a view of the signal path in the schematics of the GM36, I would guess that it will cut off existing trails in that case.

No, I'm sure the effects do not involve stereo via the speaker output.  You would be looking at two power amps for that and the BS200 only has a single output of course.  That is shown in their advice:
BS200 Floor User Manual wrote:If you want to connect two cabinets, make sure the impedance of each cabinet is 16 ohms, as the overall impedance is halved to 8 ohms in a parallel circuit.
This shows that the two output sockets are connected in parallel inside to a single power amplifier stage.  The manual seems to suggest you can get stereo out of the Line Out and Red Box out but not to the speakers.  There may be a way around this with another amp setup, to take one of the sides of a stereo preamp output but it would be another independent unit.

Yes, I agree, the Tap Tempo control seems only for delay.  Mind you, what else could it be for other than turning the Delay on and off in Stompbox mode?

    Bordonbert, man..
Thank you for this epic act of kindness.. Evenmore so you not being the BS floor user.
I am not either, still.. Been eyeing it for quite some time now.. I think it could be the best all in one guitar unit on the market for years now..
I had HK products and always supersatisfied with thought out and suoercl3ver approach.. I even had the old Made in west Germany Metal Master half rack preamp.. Cream machine as well.. Tubeman 2..megauseful and clever designs that akways delivered.

For quite some time i am awaiting all in one floor units, (giggable power amp preamp multifx integrated in a convenient footswitchable design).
I was very close to pull the plug and order one last week.. But decided to give it a more deep dive once again throughout the manual... Whats funny at the same time one used appears on the bational ads platform..
But.. After relizing the Tap tempo thing, i must say its a game changer... Its a must for me.. Esoecially in the Stompbox mode.. As having a freedom to activate reverb or a delay.. And set it accordingly to tempo is a must.. And gives me a free flow while noodling and writing my own stuff (in example i adored my now dying Vox Tonelab SE with its 2 expression pedals.. In manual mode as vox call it which is the same as stombox mode in here combined with a 2 expression pedals and tap tempo you have sooo much space and control.. In exmple assigning exp pedal to delay level or feedback.. Or a reverb mix.. Allows beautiful effective fx...)
Back to topic, cruvial thing in my questions was refading Tap tempo in stompbox mode.. All the rest is of lesser importance and is ok, although delayvtrails would be nice.. Smile

My opinion is that actually real problem in design is that Modes switch is not footswitchable...

In case it eas footswitchable, you could fast switch from even current Stompbox mode to preset, tap your delay, than back to Stompbox mode and activate ehat and however you want..

By puting that switch sidewise, i think it was a mistake...

Tap tempo in stompbox mode is mot an exotic demand i think and i see it as a huge let down.

I am still trying to find some solution... In examplr i could have banks designated to certain tempos.. Ao all 4 presets would be in same tempo.. But with differently setup parameters and fx.. But without trails that is not too smooth as i use delay a lot...

Need to tjink it trough and try to decide..

Oh yed, i forgot, tap tempo for modulations, Tremolo.. It can be wonderful indeed.. Especially if the inout note length can be chosen.. It can give. Alot of dynamics to your sound by just activating the tremolo in sync.

In that department, blackstar amped 2, although very different, covers a lot of the territory and tap tempo works...

I thank you again.. Hope i made my intentions more clear. Typing in haste, pardon the massive typos
